Each year more than 1.5 million children die from a vaccine-preventable disease—that’s one child every 21 seconds. In fact, 1 in 5 children does not have access to vaccine initiatives.
Technology combined with compassion can cross the distance to reach that Fifth Child. WorldVax.org exists to demonstrate that truth, providing caregivers with vital tools to deliver much needed care to patients from all walks of life and all corners of the globe.
We build open source humanitarian software that tracks immunizations administered to patients in remote areas of the world. Our approach focuses on these crucial aspects:
Caregivers need every available tool to make a difference in these young lives, and by combining mobile technology with intelligent vaccine guidance software, FC-Connect will provide tools to maximize use of vaccines and reach into the most remote areas.
WorldVax.org applications will bring expert guidance to those providing health care to remote and poorly served populations. The WorldVax.org project aims to strategically equip builders of immunization information systems around the world with a reference implementation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s CDSi Logic Spec. The FC-Connect system will use the reference implementation to provide recommendations and guide field medical personnel who might not be familiar with the epidemiology domain.
We are looking for people who want to help us build FC-Connect for a better world.

We’re looking for partners to jointly develop and test this solution. We want to get it right, for the benefit of the patients we want to help.
If you can help, please contact us.

Project co-founder Dennis Dunn describes the vision that he and Jeffrey A. Miller presented to the American Immunization Registry Association in the fall of 2013 at their IIS National Meeting as part of the Tools for the Future session. You can check out the slides from the presentation here.
In October 2013, Jeffrey A. Miller and Dennis Dunn presented the WorldVax.org vision to the American Immunization Registry Association (AIRA) in Denver, Colorado at their 2013 IIS National Meeting.
The presentation video gives a great introduction into the vision and goals behind WorldVax.org.
